The Vola range was conceived by Arne Jacobsen in 1968 during the golden age of Danish design. Jacobsen, who as an architect insisted on designing every detail of every project, was working on the National Bank of Denmark at the time. He proposed that the ‘working parts’ of all taps and toilets should be hidden from view, a revolutionary idea at the time. From this one seed the Vola concept of ‘clean and simple’ was born. Jacobsen died in 1971 and never lived to see the acclaim that both the National Bank and the Vola range attracted. Vola is held today in many design museums including the permanent collection of MoMA, NY.
Today the range spans showers, taps and bathroom accessories but all keeping to this original ethos. The products are still made in Denmark to ensure the manufacturing, craftsmanship and finish is of the very highest quality.
For this reason you will find Vola products used in many of the worlds most luxurious hotels.
