The Home is pleased to announce the release of a very special, limited edition, Lucienne Day Centenary Celebration Pen.
The pen has been created as part of the 2017 Lucienne Day Centenary celebrations and has been authorised by the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation.
Only one hundred pens have been manufactured in addition to three artist’s proofs. Each pen is numbered and the Certi cate of Authenticity signed by the Designer, Ruth Hudson-Silver of Silver|Story and by Paula Day on behalf of the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation.
Silver|Story is an architecture and design studio based in York. At the heart of every project is the desire to tell a story. In this instance the story begins with the Centenary Celebration, marking one hundred years since the birth of Lucienne Day. There are one hundred lines in total featured on the barrel of the pen. Ninety-nine of them being white, with the nal line, representing Lucienne, in the signature yellow found in many of her designs. On closer inspection, only one of the white lines crosses in front of the yellow line, this line might be called Robin.
The Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation was established in 2012 as a design education Charity. Their objective is to generate knowledge of the nation’s design heritage and in particular the work of Robin and Lucienne Day. They encourage access to the design legacies of Robin and Lucienne Day and to provide opportunities for students and the public to enhance their investigations into design in general and furniture and textile design in particular.
The pen has been manufactured by ACME Studio, distributed in the UK by The Home.
Limited numbered edition of 100 pens.
